Rune Factory 2 (NDS)

(source: Jeuxfrance , Famitsu) Oh great, and I just bought the first one last week.   Rune Factory 2 was recently revealed in the pages of Famitsu, and looks to be more of the same (and I say that in a good way).  Expect the usual:  farming, monster slaying, stalking girls.  Slated for release later [...]

“This is Awkward…” 8 Guilty Pleasure Games

Now, before we start, I just want to clarify what it means for a game to be a guilty pleasure. 1: Playing a game that is as old as you are is nothing to be ashamed of. That’s just a love of the game. 2: Just because you like a game more than the universally [...]

Megaman Star Force in Toonami

On seven to nine in the evening of August 25, Toonami started airing Megaman Star Force (Ryuusei no Rockman) nonstop. Each episode of the series is fifteen minutes (counting opening, ending, and next episode announcement) long, but since Toonami was showing the series nonstop, you only have the content to watch and worry about the [...]

First Impressions: Jeanne D’Arc (PSP)

Jeanne D’Arc is a turn-based tactical strategy RPG/wargame, recently released on the PSP.  From the company Level 5, who’s previous credits include Rogue Galaxy, it’s a unique take on the story of Joan D’Arc, except the main character is called Jeanne.  And it has monsters.  And the English are apparently possessed by demons.  And there’s [...]

Quickies: August 23, 2007

RUMOR: Reports trickling in that Square-Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 3 will be appear/be exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. I’m a little perplexed, and half-heartedly applaud the news (god only knows ALL the next-gen systems need RPGs badly, even if it’s an action-RPG). Will they go with a traditional control scheme, or be like everybody else, and [...]

G Generation Spirits (PS2)

(source: Gamefaqs) The mecha-themed news is really pouring in today.  Announcement of a new Scramble Commander game, announcement of the 4 new bosses in Metal Gear Solid 4 (news to be posted later), and now this. G Generation is considered the SRW equivelent of a Gundam-only series.  This difference between this new one and the [...]

Scramble Commander 2 (PS2)

(source:  4chan) The first Scramble Commander game was a RTS version of Super Robot Wars, with full-sized mechs and 3D polygons.  It also kinda-sorta sucked.  But hey, the first SRW game ever made kinda-sorta sucked, so I’m more than willing to give this one a try. The series list is as follows: Super Bestial Machine [...]

SquareEnix USA Online Store Officially Open

In an attempt to milk more money out of us, SquareEnix has opened up the US version of their online store. Within, you’ll find various pieces of merchandise that only a rabid fan would buy. $200 for this?  Sad thing is, I would probably buy it. Other than that, there are a lot of more [...]

Preview: Soul Nomad (PS2)

I can’t believe I haven’t heard anything about this game till recently.   From NIS America and Nippon Ichi, Soul Nomad is another entry into the tactical/sim RPG genre.  Since I don’t know much about it, I do know that more than likely, I’ll probably buy it.

Rumor: Samba De Amigo for the Wii?

This is making the rounds around the net over the last few days.  There’s apparently talk that Samba (SEGA overly-caffinated maraca shaking monkey) will be coming to the Wii sometime next year (one report states next February).  I’ve always like the Samba De Amigo game, so I’m hoping this rumor is indeed true.
